Team Member Profile: Scott

You’re never going to miss Scott on a home building site. After all, standing 6’11” tall, he tends to stand out. And before you ask the next common question he often gets about his height, yes, he did play basketball, both in college and even professionally for the Indiana Pacers. But there’s a lot more to Scott than his height and basketball background. As a Sales Consultant for Garrette Custom Homes (GCH), a home builder in Portland OR. he takes his work seriously, always seeking to help buyers and help the company, and that desire to help also spills over into his personal time.

On a day to day basis, Scott’s role as a sales consultant sees him helping people find the ideal piece of land, whether it’s one of our own community lots or the customer’s own land. Additionally, as he explains, “A typical day for me ranges from prospecting for new clients, to handling leads that GCH generates through their extensive marketing program. There are many

meetings with clients along the way during the build process as well.” He works alongside the rest of the team to create a positive building experience. “I help buyers fulfill their housing needs and dreams!”

Most recently, Scott worked at More Realty in Portland, and while he’s relatively new to GCH, he’s not new to the industry. He worked as a homebuilder for almost 10 years, and has worked as a real estate broker for 15 years and is a licensed Oregon Real Estate Broker. His broad experience provides him with knowledge of multiple aspects of the new home process, further helping clients better understand the process.

Helping seems to be a part of Scott’s nature. As well as helping clients as part of his work, he has volunteered in the past with various organizations such as the NBA Stay in School program, Habitat for Humanity, and the Big Brother organization.

Clearly a team player looking to solve problems and help people, it’s no wonder Scott is getting along so well at GCH. “I have always loved the home building process, the creativity it brings, and the challenges as well. I thoroughly enjoy working with people in helping them realize their dreams. Working for GCH and the dedicated and talented team they have is truly amazing, and I consider myself lucky to be a part of it all.”

A native of Southern California, Scott enjoys the beauty and perks of living in the PNW, too. When he’s not hard at work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing guitar, skiing, cheering on his beloved Lakers, and overall “enjoying the beauty of this planet we call home!”
