Finding a home that truly meets your needs and fits your lifestyle is important. After all, you’ll probably be living in this home for a number of years and you want a home that feels like it anticipates your needs. Here at Garrette Custom Homes, we offer a wide range of award-winning home designs with a variety of options that ensure you end up with a home that is ideal for you now and can meet your needs for years to come. If you’re looking for a home builder in Portland OR, or parts of Washington, contact us and let us help you find the perfect home.

One of our popular home designs is the Whitney. A single-story home, it features three bedrooms, two- to three-bathrooms, a two- to three-car garage, and has 2,205 square feet. Designed with an airy open layout, you’ll love the large windows that provide plenty of beautiful natural light. Along with the architectural features, such as arched entries into rooms and coffered ceilings in the family room and entry hall, there’s a lot to love about this particular home design.

The layout of the Whitney is an appealing mix of open-plan spaciousness with the privacy of having the bedrooms separated from the high-traffic areas. Ranch-style, and master-on-the-main homes are growing in popularity as people realize the benefit of not having to navigate stairs on a daily basis. Yet not all single-level home designs offer the separation of space that more traditional two-story home designs provide. This is where the Whitney really shines. All of the bedrooms, including the master bedroom suite, are located on one side of the home and have buffering from hallways, closets, and bathrooms to separate them from the rest of the primary living areas.

Of course, when it comes to the open-plan living areas, you’re sure to love the spaciousness and the attention to detail that helps define the family room, kitchen and dining nook, while still keeping everything open. Whether spending time with family or entertaining guests, this layout makes it easy to carry on conversations and never feel like you’re missing out.

As well as a carefully thought-out design, this home features the kinds of elements that make a home truly livable. Just off the entry, there’s a room that can serve as a parlour room, home office, or can even be converted to an additional bedroom. The addition of this extra room provides plenty of flexibility now and in the future. There’s also no shortage of storage space throughout the home, with an entry closet, a linen closet in the large laundry room, and a walk-in pantry in the kitchen, as well as the closets in each of the bedrooms. To finish off the home’s convenience and usability, there’s a mud room with a built-in bench leading from the garage, providing an excellent transition point, especially during inclement weather.

We are proud of the Whitney home design because it offers so much to potential home buyers. Along with a variety of exterior finishes, this is a home that is sure to appeal to everyone from young families to empty nesters. We are a home builder in Portland OR and parts of Washington, and we want to build the ideal home for your personal lifestyle. Whether it’s the Whitney or one of the many other outstanding home designs we offer, let us help you find just the right home for you.
